About the Artist

I am an oil painter and contemporary resin artist. These two mediums are very different but I love them equally. I'm known for my colorful landscapes of the coast, mountains and agricultural scenes. Participating in the plein-air art scene brings me great joy and many of my landscape paintings originated from studies that were created during the monthly-farm paint outs organized by the Yolo Arts, Art & Ag Project.

My resin art paintings are typically very large and can capture the essence of nature when combined with a wood stain base. I manipulate tinted epoxy resin to create contemporary abstract paintings. Each piece starts with a composition concept and a color scheme that changes and evolves, as I move through the painting process. I combine inks, powders, alcohol, and sometimes acrylics with epoxy resin. The paintings have a reflective glass like finish with intensified colors. The best complement I've received was one without words.

I pursued my career in interior design and earned my AA degree at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM). After graduating I worked for the U.S. Geological Survey as an illustrator and visual information specialist for over 30 years. When my daughter was born I started painting murals and decided to open and run my own business. I also enjoyed teaching couple and children painting classes at Beale Air Force Base for two years. My passion for the arts is strong and I continue to pursue my education by taking workshops with prominent artists and being involved in community projects.
